Hotel deLuxe to Ring in 2014 in Glamorous Old Hollywood Style

November 12, 2013 – Portland, Ore. – Hotel deLuxe in downtown Portland is inviting glamour loving starlets and dashing leading men to bid a fond farewell to 2013 and ring in the New Year in style with two dinner options worthy of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Start the Evening with a Delectable Jazz Dinner

Celebrants who are planning to hit the town are invited to start the evening with dinner in Gracie’s softly lit gilt dining room and live jazz performed by Portland jazz pianist, Ramsey Embick. He will tickle the ivories with a selection of classic Hollywood favorites from Cole Porter to George Gershwin while diners nosh on a gourmet four course prix fixe menu. Reservations are required, priced at $75 per person, not including gratuity, and available between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

Created by Chef Mark Hosack, the menu will feature a first course of butter poached lobster with parsnip puree, young vegetables, Sauterne and vanilla reduction; a second course of living Bibb salad with roasted pears and apples and a Oregon hazelnut vinaigrette; a third course of Oregon beef filet with Yukon gold mashed potatoes, winter beans and Béarnaise sauce or red wine demi – or, for vegetarians, herb infused cheese ravioli with tomato fondue, English peas, mushrooms with garlic butter; and a fourth course of assorted cheeses and chocolate truffles.

Ring in the New Year with a Supper Club Style Party

Revelers also have the option to immerse themselves in glamour with an evening of dinner, dancing and live music by jazz chanteuse Michalangela and her five piece band. Gracie’s will be transformed into an intimate supper club for the evening and festivities start at 9 p.m. with live jazz classics from the Golden Age of Hollywood while guests enjoy a prix fixe menu by Chef Hosack.  Following dinner, Michalangela and her band will turn up the beat so guests can hit the dance floor. Just before midnight, champagne and party favors will complement the countdown to 2014. The evening’s festivities are priced at $125 per person, not including gratuity. Reservations and advance payment are required.

Dinner will include an amuse bouche; first course of butter poached lobster; second course of fig glazed duck breast with chive gnocchi, chanterelle mushrooms and port wine reduction; third course of living Bibb salad; an intermezzo; fourth course of Oregon beef filet or herb infused cheese ravioli; and finale of assorted cheeses and chocolate truffles.
