Driftwood Room at Hotel deLuxe Teams with Red Ridge Farms to Debut Summer Cocktails with a Homegrown Charm and Creative Flair

July 16, 2014 – PORTLAND, OR. – Revered for its timeless craft cocktails, intimate Hollywood ease and ode to local flavors, Portland’s Driftwood Room at Hotel deluxe returns this summer with a bill of new cocktails embellished with fresh herbs from Hotel deLuxe’s rooftop garden and olive oil and lavender harvested from Oregon’s adored Red Ridge Farms.

Settled in the heart of Oregon Wine Country, Red Ridge Farms is home to the Oregon Olive Mill, producing a diverse collection of olive oils from a select variety of olive trees spanning over 17 acres of the Dundee Hills. Lavender from the farm will also make its way into Driftwood Room’s summer cocktail pleasers, promising a Mediterranean standard of flavor and ingenuity that are sure to surprise and delight.

Provenance Hotels’ partnership with Red Ridge Farms and debut of their summer cocktail ballot comes fresh on the heels of the Driftwood Room’s spring artisan cocktail menu, inspired by local flavors from Provenance Hotels’ partners at Jacobsen Salt, Bee Local honey, Smith Teamaker and Salt & Straw. Olive oil from Red Ridge Farms can now be enjoyed in craft cocktail form from the Driftwood Room or purchased from Hotel deLuxe’s honor bar in addition to products from Bee Local honey and Jacobsen Salt.

The Lavender Lemonade ($10) is first on the summer cocktail lineup with a sweet combination of Monopolowa vodka, Farigoule French thyme liqueur, fresh lemon juice and lavender simple syrup procured from Red Ridge Farms.

Putting a modern twist on an age-old cocktail, the Thai Gimlet ($11) features Mekhong rum, Domaine de Canton, fresh lime juice and basil simple syrup.

The Tumbleweed ($12) is a playful mix of Olmeca Altos Reposado tequila, green chartreuse, Triple Sec, fresh lime juice and muddled sage creating a vibrant cocktail unlike any traditional margarita.

Drawing from herbal inspiration, Rosemary’s Baby ($10) is the perfect combination of Union gin, Aqwa herbal liqueur, Zirbenz pine liqueur, fresh lemon juice and rosemary simple syrup grown atop Hotel deLuxe.

The Berries and Thyme ($11) eludes a simple summer elegance with its combination of New Amsterdam gin, crème de cassis, Farigoule French thyme liqueur, muddled blackberries, fresh lemon juice, and thyme simple syrup.

Rendering a new perspective on the versatility of olive oil, the Caprese ($11) offers a unique infusion of Union gin, Oregon Olive Mill Frantoio olive oil, balsamic vinegar, tomato juice and basil. This summer cocktail offers true Mediterranean vivacity not to be missed by the adventurous cocktail consumer.

The Driftwood Room’s summer cocktails debuted July 15th and will be available through summer. The Driftwood Room is open from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 2 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
