Creator Close Ups
In a town that knows no shortage of amazing craft breweries, timeless wineries and distilleries and fine Pacific Northwest delicacies, Hotel deluxe is opening its doors for weekly tastings of the best, beer, wine, cider, spirits and dishes that our region has to offer. Our weekly Creator Closeups tastings, curated by the Gracie’s and Driftwood Room General Manager Kaitlin Dover, will showcase the local brilliance of Northwest food and beverage creators that are celebrated by locals and travelers alike. Come sip, savor and sample Hotel deLuxe’s Creator Closeups every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m in the hotel lobby. Weekly tastings are open to all guests and visitors.
Pop Up Cinema
Held in our glamorous Screening Room, Pop-Up Cinema is a series of semi-impromptu movie screenings of our favorite classic Hollywood films. Cast on an expansive 16 ft. screen, the screenings are free and open to the public with nibbles and sips available from the Driftwood Room at happy hour prices for the duration of the film. OCTOBER: Dare to be Scared?
October 7th | “The Birds” (1963) – A classic American horror-thriller, this film was directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock, and it became one of the most frightening movies of its time. It all starts when Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren), a young socialite, known for her racy behavior, meets criminal defense attorney Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco bird shop. Her attraction toward him, entices her enough to follow him to Bodega Bay, California. As she gets to know Mitch, his family and friends, a series of odd and unexplained violent bird attacks begin to happen on men, women and children alike within the town. October 21st | “Hocus Pocus” (1993) – After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz) explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and their new friend, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy) who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal. This 1993 Halloween classic is celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary this year, and we want to celebrate All Hallows Eve with you in style! Come dressed up in your favorite Hocus Pocus attire and make it a spook-tacular evening with all of your friends. Every summer we bring the 19th Hole to the corner of SW 15th and Yamhill. It pairs a nine-hole mini-golf course with custom-made picnic tables, greenery and shade-giving umbrellas. We also offer over 75 craft beers, Oregon wines, Pacific Northwest ciders and delicious cart food. This is a great choice for private gatherings like birthdays, wedding receptions and bachelor parties.
